What is Aero?
Aero is a personal web portal inspired by the Internet of the late 1990s and 2000s, especially the colorful, optimistic vision of technology associated with Frutiger Aero.
The website combines old computer interfaces, glossy graphics, blue skies, nature, water and futuristic technology to recreate the feeling of exploring a personal website from the early Web 2.0 era.
Aero is also a celebration of the personal web: small websites, strange ideas, animations, forums, blogs and communities created simply because people wanted to share something with the Internet.

What is Frutiger Aero?
Frutiger Aero is the name commonly used today to describe a visual aesthetic associated mainly with technology, advertising, graphic design and interfaces from approximately the mid-2000s through the early 2010s.
The aesthetic is characterized by an optimistic relationship between technology and nature. Instead of imagining the future as dark, industrial or dystopian, Frutiger Aero presents technology as clean, colorful, friendly and exciting.
Common imagery includes bright blue skies, green grass, tropical water, bubbles, clouds, flowers, leaves, futuristic architecture, glowing effects and glossy three-dimensional objects.
Interfaces associated with the era frequently used gradients, transparency, reflections, rounded shapes, shadows and simulated glass materials.
Frutiger Aero is strongly connected with the broader visual culture of the Web 2.0 period.
Technology was becoming an increasingly important part of everyday life, and visual design often tried to make that technological future look exciting and accessible.
The name "Frutiger Aero" was created retrospectively. People designing websites and software during the original period generally did not describe their work using this term.
Frutiger Aero should therefore not be understood as one strict design system. It is better understood as a recognizable visual family containing many overlapping ideas and related styles.

Helvetica Aqua Aero combines glossy technology with aquatic imagery.

Y2K shares some of the futuristic optimism of Frutiger Aero, but focuses more on chrome, translucent plastic, futuristic hardware and space imagery.

Moon is a planned operating system project that will be developed in the future using CosmosOS.
Moon is inspired by MS-DOS, Y2K and retro computing. The project aims to recreate the feeling of using a classic personal computer.

The main interface is planned to be a command-line shell. Users will interact with the system by typing commands instead of using a modern graphical desktop as the main interface.
Commands such as HELP, DIR, CD, CLS, RUN and VER are planned for the Moon shell.

Moon combines classic DOS ideas with the visual and technological atmosphere of the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Moon is still in the planning stage. The kernel, shell, filesystem and other components will be developed over time with CosmosOS.
